Week: 06/10/23 - 14/11/23

Overview: This week, the team focused on achieving our primary goal of creating a fully functional prototype compatible with VR. Additionally, we accomplished tasks such as designing art for speed boosts, enhancing performance, restructuring the environment and more.

Member Contributions: 
Thomas - the programmer: Thomas focused on optimizing the game's performance, aiming for a minimum of 72 frames per second. He achieved this by removing colliders from all cubes and implementing a script that efficiently moves walls, significantly reducing the number of cubes required for the entire level. Thomas also revamped the environment by introducing more colours, incorporating white cubes for "Neon Racer" text on the walls, and updating lane colours. Additionally, he added VR capability to the game, allowing players to use triggers for an immersive experience.

Conor - Programmer:  Connor contributed to performance improvements by developing a script to remove buffs/debuffs as the player progresses. Currently, his focus is on enhancing the player experience by refining the leaning animation for seamless lane changes.

Liam - Programmer: Liam, assigned as the VR tester, rigorously assessed our recently incorporated features and overall performance. Additionally, he dedicated efforts to refining particle effects for buffs/debuffs and rectified alignment issues during player lane changes.

Boris  - Audio Engineer: Boris started developing engine noises and wind effects for the game.

Challenges Encountered:
Challenge 1: Performace:
This week, TLC Studio initiated VR testing for our game and identified performance issues that commonly could lead to nausea. The solutions to address these concerns have been detailed above.

Next Week's Plans: Next week, we will conduct player testing for "Neon Racer".
